Blazer Jobs is currently seeking Paraprofessionals for a school-based role in the Schnecksville, PA area for summer and next school year.

Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent 
• Experience: Minimum of 1+ years working as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting
• Commute: Must reside within 35 minutes of either Lehigh County or Carbon County
• Availability: Must be available to work a school day schedule (anywhere from 7:00 AM if a high school start to 3:30 PM if elementary or middle school end)
• Credentials: Must meet at least one of the PA paraprofessional qualification requirements listed below. If a candidate does not currently meet one of these 3 requirements, they can attain the para cert within 60 days of hire.

To work as a Special Education Paraprofessional in Pennsylvania, candidates must meet at least one of these requirements:

1. Have 48 college credits (2 years of post-secondary study)
2. Hold an associate degree or higher
3. Earn a Pennsylvania paraprofessional credential through training and assessment

If You Already Qualify
Options 1 and 2 must be verified with an official transcript or degree.

If You Do Not Yet Qualify
You must complete the seven-module certification process during onboarding and:

• Submit the required paperwork and clearances to IU HR
• Apply for paraprofessional certification with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) within 60 days of hire

How to Earn the Credential of Competency Candidates must:

• Complete seven online training modules on PaTTAN
• Pass short quizzes and save the completion certificates
• Work with a supervisor, teacher, or principal to complete the competency checklist
• Submit the completed checklist to PDE for approval

After approval, PDE will issue the Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraprofessionals in Pennsylvania.
